The roles of the Research Committee include:

Screening ASTN research proposals; advising on resources needed to develop proposals into finished protocols; and assessing protocols for implementation using Network resources.

This committee is accountable to the Executive Committee, and is made up of:

• Two Chief Investigators (rotating every 2 years)
• Four Associate Investigators (rotating every 3 years) and one international
• The biostatistics and the health economics consultants (ie 2 members)
• A consumer member
